Unleash possibility: Time to get out of your own way?

Do you want more from  your career, your business or your life?

young woman with questionable gesture scrape the hairHave you ever set a goal for something you wanted to achieve and just not made it? You’re in good company if you answered yes. More than 70% of people fail to achieve the goals they set for themselves and we’re not talking about New Years Resolutions which many of us set and forget. We’re talking about creating the life you really want.

One of the great drivers of engagement and satisfaction in life is finding meaning in what we do. Most of us want to make a difference to our families or communities. Right?

We may feel frustrated that even though we have that intention, it’s just not happening. Something gets in the way. Or we feel we need one more piece of the puzzle before we’re ready. Perhaps we feel that we need more skills. Or we need a lucky break!

Can you relate to that?

I’m going to make a bold statement. We fail to achieve our goals and make the difference that we want to in a large part because our efforts are either not wholehearted or are undermined by the feeling that we’re just not good enough.

How would it be if you could increase your likelihood of success – in whatever way you define it – by increasing your self-esteem and removing the barriers that stand in the way; barriers that you erect through feeling you’re not good enough?

You might think you haven’t been successful because you haven’t received the same breaks as others have. Do you recall the Henry Ford quote? “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right!” Our thoughts have a greater impact on our success or lack of success than luck or capabilities.

Our mindset dictates whether we can identify and access our capabilities and whether we can see the opportunities that are right in front of our faces.

Another thought that may cross your mind is that you’ve lived with feeling not good enough for many years and done OK. You might even consider that it’s been motivating to push through that feeling. It’s amazing what we get used to. Getting used to a situation or way of feeling is not the same as feeling great about yourself, about who you are and the value you can bring if only you could get out of your own way.

If you experience any of these feelings and frustrations, and would like to change your relationship with success, I can help you.

I have a public offering called ”Unleash possibility ~ time to get out of your own way!” It is a one-day programme (plus a coaching option) designed to help you understand how, why and when you sabotage your dreams. Most importantly, this programme helps you move beyond the low self-esteem and confidence that gets in your way.

Are you willing and ready to invest in yourself?

Hear what one participant said about the programme when it was run in a corporate environment:

I really loved this course. I found it challenging and confronting as well as very beneficial to understanding my drivers (as well as the drivers of the people around me) which will help me tenfold over the next few weeks as we transition into the new roles that are in front of us. Thank you ! Heidi, Manager,Leading Insurance company

Workshop Outcomes

The outcomes for the workshop, the mini coaching package and the one-on-one coaching package are similar. They vary of course in their depth and the degree to which the new thought patterns, self-esteem and confidence are embedded.

  • Identify how you place limits on yourself and begin to dismantle them
  • Understand why you can have complete confidence in your abilities and yet still feel you’re not up to a new career opportunity
  • Learn why poor self-esteem (the imposter syndrome, aka feeling not good enough) is the foundation of most of our sabotage patterns
  • Recognise the 7 fear-based behaviours we may engage in as a result of feeling not good enough
  • Identify the cost of feeling not good enough at work and how it impacts your performance
  • Increase self-awareness, behavioural management, empathy and curiosity
  • Learn how to take personal responsibility and be accountable in work tasks and relationships
  • Recognise and accept your own strengths and successes as a foundation for growth
  • Use your own emotions as information about what you’re really thinking at an unconscious level
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Acquire techniques to defuse conflict, build trust in yourself and others
  • Take on tools to help manage your own thoughts and emotions, channeling them more effectively to achieve your desired outcomes

This programme WILL make a positive impact on your career or  business and on your life. That is my promise. The degree to which the programme has lasting impact will depend on either adding coaching into the package or in diligently applying the tools back in your work environment.

It is both thought provoking and practical. You will walk away with tools you can apply that will make a difference.

At the end of the recent programme in Sydney, one participant said:

I attended Suzanne Mercier’s program, “Unleash Possibility: Time To Get Out Of Your Own Way”.  It is an excellent program for anyone who is frustrated with where they are, be it a business owner or working in the corporate world. Suzanne’s model’s and information resonate and are so relevant to those wanting more from their business and themselves.  She has a great gift to gently ‘push’ to get participants to examine what is really getting in their way to being successful.  I would highly recommend the program to corporates, SMEs and entrepreneurs.  She is Australia’s Brene Brown and we are fortunate to have her work with Australian companies, firms and entrepreneurs.    Hacy Tobias, Former General Manager People and Performance, Current small business owner

How would it be if you continued with the same level of success you have now?

What if your career continued as it is going now or if your business is as successful as it is going to be? Would you be OK with that? If so, that’s wonderful news.

What if your life continued as it is? Again would that be good news?

If you would like a different outcome, you need a different approach … you know that logically. It’s just that making the change can feel overwhelming.

And what could you achieve if you dismantled any barriers to greater success?

What if you had a roadmap that helped you understand what’s going on, and how to move past those self-imposed limitations? What difference could that make to you?

More of what people say:

I recently attended the Skirting Leadership workshop, during which I experienced insight into some challenges at work. I was able to recognise my underlying mindset and patterns of behaviour that contributed to those challenges and I acquired tools to handle these situations differently, creating more positive outcomes. I have great confidence that I am now able to lead effectively at work. Lisa Fleming, GM, Major Child Care Company

Thank you for the exceptional leadership programme. Your research and strategies were enlightening and I would highly recommend your Skirting Leadership programme to anyone who has ever wanted to remove the barriers to their leadership capability.
Megan Childe, Supply Chain Effectiveness Manager, OneSteel Reinforcing (part of Arrium Mining)

Having completed the Skirting Leadership programme, the challenge then becomes how to implement the new learnings  Thank you, thank you, thank you for coaching me.  I wouldn’t have had the courage – or even the thought really – to have the  discussion with my boss about really stepping up as a manager if it weren’t for you and the work we’ve done together over the last 6 months. I’m now managing 3 teams and I realise I’m in new territory now –  you’re the best compass around!
